Brand and Production
Oliva made this stunning flavorful Serie 'V' Melanio Churchill cigar. This cigar produces at the Tabolisa I factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
This long Churchill-shaped cigar appears in dark chocolate. It’s a 7inch by 50 box-pressed cigar stick. This cigar surface is oily and thick. There are rare textures on the body, and the end cap looks to blend to the surface. Also, the long band looks great on the long body.
Oliva used costly and aged leaves on this cigar, those came from Estelí and Condega. They used Nicaraguan Ligeros long-leaf for the blend, and for the rich and balanced flavors, they used extra tobaccos from the Jalapa Valley of Nicaragua. This makes a compact and well-constructed cigar.
For the look and cover of the ingredients, they used an Ecuadorian-grown Sumatra leaf wrapper. It is solid and doesn't lose its shape. We didn’t see many veins and sponginess' on the wrapper surface.
The wrapper scents were chocolaty and woody. Cold smoke was good, not much loose or much tight.
Smoking litter bit flavors and aroma was coming amazingly. There was chocolaty and creaminess everywhere. Then we got natural tobaccos, and it was coming nicely and mixed well with the others.
On the halfway down, flavors were coming strongly. All flavors were still there. White pepper and cocoa join the party to make the smoke more charming. The mixture of the creaminess and pepper was coming strongly till the finish of the midpoint.
Some flavors got mild here to maintain the smooth smoke flow. But pepper, chocolate, and natural tobacco were still strong there. Though the wrapper scents woody, there wasn't anything like that, but there was mild leather on the background till the finish.
The burn was excellent. Touchup needed for the long cigar. The draw was smooth, and the Ash was solid.
The choice of quality ingredients and the construction was excellent. As a result, all the flavors were coming perfectly, and the smoke was smooth. We feel that Oliva Serie 'V' Melanio is a perfect handmade box-pressed cigar.
The cigar burned evenly and beautifully. Can't go wrong with Oliva's.
