Perdomo Grand Cru 2006 Sun Grown is made from the finest tobacco of the 2006 batch. The cigar is perfectly descended from Cru 2004. This cigar offers a variety of medium to full body flavors.

Build Quality

The build of this cigar is solid. It is very densely packed and weighty. The color of this cigar is dark brown. Veins are minimal, but the surface is toothy. The seams are invisible and tight. It has Nicaraguan tobacco from different states of Nicaragua as its binder and filler. 

Design

It comes in different shapes. The Epicure-shaped cigar is 6 inches by 60 ring gauge. 

Wrapping

It is wrapped with thick Sun grown leaves which are fermented in Spanish bins for flavor enhancement. It also gives the cigar its color.

Beginning portion

Initially, this cigar offers sweet notes. There is vanilla, cream, and citrus. A hint of leather flavor can be detected, but it is faint. The creamy and buttery-ness stays throughout the whole portion. It has a nice amount of pepper on the finish. The range at this point is medium body. 

Middle portion

Here, the notes start to settle down a little bit. There is no rush of transition on this part. New flavors that are introduced in this portion are coffee and earth. The previous flavors are also there, balancing the cigar. The pepper stays the same. Sweetness increases in volume which feels nice. The range at this point is medium body. 

Bottom portion

At this portion, everything remains the same. The change that happens in the notes is their profile. The profile starts to get full-bodied. The coffee, earth, leather, vanilla, and cream become sweeter. The pepper flavor nicely balances the sweet notes. The range becomes full-bodied. 

Burn

This cigar burns perfectly. The burn line is quite straight. The cigar is dense though the draw is perfect. Smoke remains creamy and thick consistently throughout the cigar. It has nice and silky ash, which holds for like 1.5 inches with the cigar.
